New York Knicks All-Star Forward was in attendance for Duke head coach Mike Krzyzewski as he became the first coach in Men’s Division I basketball to reach 1,000 wins at the place where he plays his home games, Madison Square Garden in New York City.  Anthony spoke about 1,000 wins for Coach K after a recent victory, and said “1,000 wins, that’s crazy.”

Melo, who played for Coach K for USA Basketball at the 2008 and 2012 Olympic Games and was 16-0, discussed what makes the coach so special.  “His knowledge for the game, the way he is able to put groups of different guys together. how he is able to get guys to play, how he is able to motivate guys to go out there and play, to enjoy the game of basketball, work hard, enjoy it and have fun with the game of basketball, so that was my experience with him.”

Will Carmelo Anthony and Mike Krzyzewski reunite for the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro in Brazil?  Only time will tell, but for one magical afternoon at Madison Square Garden, Melo and Coach K were together once more.
