Knicks Look to End Three-Game Skid Versus Durant, Thunder by Derrel “Jazz” Johnson

Tonight at Madison Square Garden the New York Knicks (16-12) look to end a three-game losing streak when they face the Oklahoma City Thunder (20-9) at 7:30pm.  Tonight’s game will be a matchup of the top two National Basketball Association scorers, with Thunder forward Kevin Durant, averaging a league-high 26.7 points per game, along with 6.6 rebounds per game, going against Knicks forward Amar’e Stoudemire, averaging 26.5 points per game, 9.4 rebounds per game, and 2.1 blocks per game.

There will also be a great matchup at the point guard position, with two players having breakout seasons and being possible all-stars.  Point Guard Raymond Felton of the Knicks is averaging career highs in points per game with 18.4, assists with 9.0 per game, and steals with 1.9 per game.  Russell Westbrook is averaging career highs in the same three categories, with 22.8 points per game, 8.4 assists per game, and 2.0 steals per game.

The Knicks should be well-rested after a stretch of three games in four nights, all losses, versus the Boston Celtics Wednesday, the Miami Heat Friday, and the Cleveland Cavaliers Saturday, that produced a lot of emotional and physical fatigue.

The Razz and Jazz Sports Blog last saw the Thunder in their incredible triple-overtime victory over the New Jersey Nets, 123-120. (
