Citi Field

The New York Mets signed 35-year old outfielder Michael Cuddyer on the opening day of the General Manager meetings in Arizona today.  The Mets released the following statement.

“Michael is a tremendous addition to the middle of our lineup,” Mets general manager Sandy Alderson said. “He is a proven offensive threat who also brings versatility in the field with the ability to play multiple positions.”

Cuddyer played in only 49 games last season for the Mets, but is a proven commodity in Major League Baseball when healthy.  The deal is said to be wort $21 million over two years.
