After losing four straight over the weekend in Oakland to the Athletics, the New York Yankees pulled off a surprise deal for Ichiro Suzuki for two minor league prospects, DJ Mitchell and Danny Farquhar. Suzuki litterally switched uniforms and dugouts, as the Yankees and Mariners played last night, with the Yankees winning 4-1.

The New York Mets continue to lose, as they lost their second-straight extra innings game, and dropped to two games under the .500 mark. The loss is their 10th in 11 games, and their season is falling apart very quickly. They face the Washington Nationals again tonight, and phenom Stephen Strasburg gets the start against the Mets tomorrow.

The USA Men’s Basketball team takes on Spain at 4:30pm today. The team is 4-0 with wins over the Dominican Republic, Brazil, Great Britain and Argentina, but Spain should be their toughest challenge to date, as they face them in Barcelona, Spain. After close wins over Argentina, by six points, and Brazil, by 11 points, LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, Kevin Durant and the US are vunerable today to a team that has more size and international experience. Spain, of course, has NBA players Marc Gasol, Pau Gasol, and Serge Ibaka.
