Exclusive: Shaka Smart remembers Stuart Scott

ShakaNet

After a 75-58 win over the Fordham Rams at Rose Hill Gym in the Bronx, New York, Virginia Commonwealth University head coach Shaka Smart reflected on the life of Stuart Scott, who passed earlier today.

“It’s really sad.  He’s a guy that we really admire and I think he absolutely changed the game when it came to reporting on sports.  Just the way that he went about it with so much passion and enthusiasm. Some of his catch phrases, the fact that he is African American and really was able to be a star in a profession that quite frankly isn’t particularly diverse. Hopefully he paved the way for a lot of people to come behind him. I was a big fan and I always will be a big fan of his.”

Like Shaka Smart, many of us were big fans of Stuart Scott, including the team at CitySportsReport.com.  Below are some of our thoughts on the passing of Scott.
