Stoudemire Scores 39 as Knicks Defeat Nets 117-111 by Derrel “Jazz” Johnson

Amar’e Stoudemire scored an NBA preseason high 39 points while pulling down 11 rebounds as the New York Knicks defeated the New Jersey Nets 117-111 at Madison Square Garden. Raymond Felton added 13 points and 11 assists, as the Knicks played their final home preseason game. Toney Douglas game off the bench to score 24 points and added 6 steals, while Anthony Randolph added 13 and Bill Walker 10 points off the bench.

The Knicks entered the fourth quarter down by 1, but Stoudemire scored 10 of his 29 in the final quarter to pace the Knicks. Jordan Farmer came off the bench to lead the Nets with 21 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Second-year starter Brook Lopez scored 19 points and 8 rebounds. Net Rookie Derrick Favors scored 12 points and pulled down 7 rebounds and Terrence Williams scored 15 points, both off the bench.
